Team Plovdiv

Plovdiv 2019

Plovdiv is the first Bulgarian city chosen to be the ‘European Capital of Culture’ in 2019 thus the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation was established to organize and implement the most important EU project for art and culture. Now, 10 years later Plovdiv has an active place on the local, national and European cultural map.

The team successfully realized more than 800 events with artists and organizations from more than 50 countries. Plovdiv 2019 maintains a broad network of local and international partners operating in the creative industries and with more than 40 European youth organizations. It also collaborates with educational institutions in Bulgaria and abroad, and organizes various training courses and workshops through its platform Forum 2019 focused on the education of young people through culture, volunteering, and non-formal education. After the year of the title, Plovdiv 2019 Foundation initiated a Legacy Programme of three open calls to ensure the preservation of the intensity of cultural life in Plovdiv by supporting the holding of some of the most successful music, dance festivals, and theatrical events as well as smaller projects related to community art, youth cultures, and educational activities.

The Legacy of Plovdiv 2019 is highly embedded in all the Cultart mission, steps and results. Plovdiv 2019 is driven to develop this practical academy programme as part of its ongoing strategy to promote a greater correlation between culture, education, and the private sector on a European level.

N.B.: Especially for the Cultart project Plovdiv 2019 team works #together with three more amazing groups of heroes from Plovdiv: The AIP problem solvers, the geometricians of the design studio punkt, and the marketing gurus from Limacon.

The Alliance of Innovative Practices (A.I.P.) is a follower of the Youth Alliance Association, which was created in 1995 as a non-formal youth group to realize the ideas of students. The organization worked with Bonn Youth Association and collaborated with a representative of the Federal Ministry of Family, Youth and Seniors and from 1998 to 2004 has realized annual youth exchanges, youth camps in Germany. In 2001 the nonformal group become registered as an NGO and worked actively till 2004. After that, the active initiatives stopped because any teacher wanted to continue the activities and the organization slept. Since the legal changes concerning the reregistration process of associations and foundations were in force, the organization was re-registered, and other aims and priorities were set. Now A.I.P. works in the field of educational innovations, non-formal training, and cultural management.

punkt is an independent design studio, based in Bulgaria. They like to create and transform brand identities, regardless of their size or idea. ‘We are diverse and so are all of our clients – from corporate and start-ups to culture and non-profit organizations.’ They do both online and offline visual identities, branding, and design and offer end-to-end solutions.

Limacon is a company that works as an external marketing department for nearly 40 Bulgarian and international companies and is the first HubSpot Solution Partner for Bulgaria. ‘Limacon (Living the dream. Mastering life. Connecting ideas) is a philosophy that helps us develop ourselves, our business, and the society in which we live.’
